The Deadlines
Darkwave garage rockers The Deadlines came together with their love of pulsating rock growling and eyeliner in 1998, all in an effort to redefine the state of music. Frontman Shaun Sundholm was bored with music, therefore he and drummer Jeremy Atrick and guitarist Sammy Lugosi formed to play around with elements of glam rock and punk. Thomas Demise was brought on board to play bass when The Deadlines revamped for more of a rock-based growl, whereas keyboardist the Creature completed the five-piece. Musical influences range from the goth stylings of Bauhaus and the Damned, to the campy twirlings of the New York Dolls, and the intensity of the Misfits and the Cramps. Signed to Tooth & Nail Records, The Deadlines released their debut The Death & Life Of... in March 2000. A year later, goth schtick aside, The Deadlines had shaped a new hard sound with glam rock appeal. A new line-up also accompanied Sundholm: Tim Eurich (lead guitar), Jeremy Abbott (drums) and Joshua Griffith on bass. Fashion Over Function appeared in November 2001, exuding the band's raw power, however changes loomed ahead. Abbott bowed out and Travis Waldie (drums) and Gerrit Lovesick stepped in to complete The Deadlines. Read more on Last.fm.
